I sometimes like to make images that could be books covers, but are not. :) This image was inspired by a walk through Barnes and Noble and a long conversation with @thesaltedimage. ❤️ I bought the cape on Amazon, lit the image with #westcottlighting (the 2x2 Flex mat), used @seeinanewway OMNI (I used the smooth glass one), on my #sonyalpha #sonya9 with the 90mm macro. I only had five minutes to shoot this, and fortunately, a moody/brooding teenager fit the theme of the faux book cover I had in mind. 😂

I often have to explain that I don't always just love to shoot close macro. Nature has a way of soothing a worried soul when you step back as well. Eliot Porter called it The Intimate Landscape---a celebration of the in-between. Our class was wrapping and I joined a group of ladies---some flicking their cameras upwards, while others shared their screens to compare their ICM (intentional camera movement) shots. The bright light and autumn colors blurred together to create a gorgeous painted effect! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

@sarahkossakgupta and I had the most lovely macro workshop this past weekend! You cannot underestimate the joy of scrounging around in a beautiful park looking for #lovelydeadcrap! We had a wonderful group of women armed with sparkle spray, copper pipes and other accessories for enhancing nature images. I want to thank all those that came and let me rattle on about how much I adore crawling around in the leaves. 😂
